Treehouse
Posted by justinA magical circular expanse of island-traveller chatter resting atop a comfortably uneven floor of buckling wood planks. Mismatched mats of odd patterns and colour mark out the territory for each table. Hung from the ceiling of the wide thatched roof are colourful cloth lanterns.
Upside-down trees with root systems intact reach up to provide support. The center of the room features a winding wooden staircase to the top of your head. From there a fixed ladder reaches down to finish the journey to the top of the 'treehouse'.
I could keep waxing lyrical but pictures speak a thousand words, even if a little blurred.
Hammocks abound and are unsurprisingly perfect for catching that post-novel-reading snooze. It's all built out into the sea on rickety wooden posts with a wide deck that spreads out to encompass other individual huts like this one, which is out on its own little pier.
Hi Justos! I'm fathomed by your abilities to upkeep your journal. Surely the temptations to dismiss an entry will overcome you? Nevertheless, your journal brings back fond memories of Thailand each time I take a glimpse into your colourful world.
You've just cranked my mind...Hammocks, any doubles there?
Anyway, take care of yourself and make the most of what you can. Life is only what you make of it and nothing more. And have a Singa beer via the side of your mouth for us!
Ciao, Tonz
Wow guys
I could not have imagined such a place (remember I'm not a visual person!) but to read the words then see the pics. Amazing. Brozer thinks it's all sooo ho hum - you know him! I think he's just jealous. Miss you guys and love you - wanna be there too!
Justin and Danielle-
Your journal entries have made it to the other side of the globe, and I am loving tracking your journey. Danielle will remember me returning from mine and in love with all the sites and experiences...how smart you both are to electronically journal them for family and friends to track you! And with photos too:)
Wishing you both all the best on your continuing travelling adventures!!!
Love, Allison
