Island-hopping recap
Posted by justinThe time has come, the Walrus said.
From jungle beats to house party retreats (we lived on Koh Pha Ngan long enough!), we've spent a lot of time in paradise. Some say too much. That's why we had to do a border run by boat to Burma so we could extend our stay another thirty days. Of course.
Once we hit west-side of Thailand around the Andaman coast we went to Rai Leh beach to stay east-side (the cheap-side). Rai Leh was fantastic - some amazing little beaches, scenery, and some superb views if you cared to climb the lime-stone peaks.
We rented a long-tail boat around the islands - the excitement in the group was clearly visible. Here's us, the Arabian girls, and of course the fish.
Our next move was to the island of Koh Lanta. Quiet, not a highlight, but if you dig some good digs then Ban Phu Lae is the place to stay. Top marks for atmosphere and the beach bar - our Thai hosts had some of the best interior decorating skills we've seen.
We finally made it to Koh Phi Phi last week for some real relaxing.

Danielle and Niki practicing sunset fire-twirling in the hope of one day performing at Hippies Bar, Koh Phi Phi. This was while Dan and myself practiced drinking copious amounts of Sangsom whisky watching the fire-twirlers. We all got the hang of our set tasks.
More Koh Phi Phi photos and more relaxing and reading.
Sunsets setting on paradise at Paradise beach resort around the way at Hat Yao.
It wasn't all reading and relaxing though. We took an early-morning (8am!) arduous journey over to Koh Phi Phi Leh - the smaller of the two islands. Yes - some Hollywood shmoes shot some film here, and there are no guesthouses, just day-trippers and National Park rangers.
After stopping at the beach we puttered around to the almost-enclosed sea lagoon for a swim - a sight you will never, ever (ever ever) forget.
So we've clearly had too much holidaying and it's high-time to hit the traveller trail and start adventuring again. New country, please!
yesssss ..... but are you really happy???? I mean, here I am savouring the warm inner glow achieved by being a spoke in the wheel of capitalism. ....the stimulating senses of wonder and awe which overwhelm me when I'm reflecting upon my corporate week each Friday night ... NOTTTTTT! That lagoon photo makes me want to leap into the screen! Take care, thrillseekers. Love, Dave D.

One of life's great mysteries.
Yes, well, it all looks too bloody relaxing.....tell, and show us the non relaxing stuff! That's the problem with marketing it's all about getting a sell.
Keep hav'in fun, cos it's all gonna end real soon!
Wardy.
Blimey....Who's the stunner with the curly brown hair?
Hey Wardy - brochure-speak is appropriate for leisurely islands. Now we're back on the streets you can expect some gutter talk and real-life stories.
Fatima, fatima , fatima. What *will* we do with you!
