Perhentian Islands
Amazing. Clarity. Best snorkelling in a long time. Vis to 15-20 metres. Oh - and we both got our Open Water Scuba licences. Finally!

After catching the local bus to the Cameron Highlands we met back up with Dan, Niki, and Niki's mum Mitra - out visiting for two weeks.

Butterworth, Malaysia
Butterworth, Malaysia. First stop, first snapshot of Malaysia. The bus depot was tucked under large cement highway flyovers just like Darling Harbour in Sydney - before it was developed. So on first sight Malaysia looked thoroughly modern and Western, with a glistening glass high-rise in the distance that could have come out of any CBD. It looked a little lonely though.

Island-hopping recap
The time has come, the Walrus said.
From jungle beats to house party retreats (we lived on Koh Pha Ngan long enough!), we've spent a lot of time in paradise. Some say too much. That's why we had to do a border run by boat to Burma so we could extend our stay another thirty days. Of course.

Still on The Beach
Not much to report except that we're still chillin on a tropical beach in Thailand.
Our new home is on Phi Phi - the island where The Beach was filmed. Still spending the days basking in the sun and snorkeling or swimming in the truly turquoise water.
It really is a hard life.
